Screen Acting
Learning how to develop a role to camera through a range of relevant screen acting challenges. These include a self promotion ident, creating a role from a play, improvised roles and scenarios, devised roles and scenarios, working with another actor off camera and self reflection using a range of different angles and shots. These skills are built up and developed gradually as the learner progresses up through the Grades.
Progression through the Grades creates meaningful stepping stones in experiencing and developing an understanding of the skills and techniques required for screen acting and self presentation. The Level 3 Grades carry UCAS tariff points. There is a degree of intellectual involvement in reading and understanding plays, alongside the technical ability to operate the screen equipment to cover different angles and types of shot as required.
These are solo exams, but there is a requirement for a second performer off camera in several of the exams.
